旅游基础设施建设关系旅游服务接待能力，文体设施关乎群众文体生活。过去五年，万宁坚持提升旅游服务品质，着力完善加强旅游公共服务设施和文体设施建设。从建立博鳌机场万宁市候机楼，扶持企业运营三亚至万宁旅游专线车，丰富共享电动车、联动云共享汽车等多样交通方式，到旅游咨询服务体系逐步健全。2016年－2020年，万宁新增3A级旅游景区1个、椰级乡村旅游点9个，共建成4座游客服务中心、5个乡村旅游咨询服务中心以及旅游厕所38座。
与此同时，完成了行政村文体活动室189间，建成市、镇两级农村广播电视公共服务网络站13个，全市重点文化项目和镇村文化设施建设不断加强，信息资源共享的惠民工程在实现市、镇、行政村全覆盖的基础上，不断提升优化服务效能。
为满足群众健身需求，万宁还大力推进体育设施建设。目前体育场地总面积为243.36万平方米，人均体育场地面积为4.21平方米。现有体育场地类型涵盖篮球场、足球场共有21种。
